Yaroomba Beach will be a place

The new coastal village will be a place for locals and visitors to meet, relax, and enjoy great food and boutique shopping.

The 220 room 5 Star The Westin Coolum Resort & Spa, and adjacent 148 serviced apartments draw inspiration from nature, featuring refined design and sustainable materials.

The layout, orientation and footprint of the buildings and landscape combine to form a special amenity and connection, interspersed by more than three hectares of green and open space.

A series of precincts, each with its own ambience
and character, radiate from The Westin and village heart

These cascade down in height from the central seven storey tourism precinct to a precinct of four storey residential apartments, then to an outer halo of low-density two and three storey residences.

Over three hectares of land will be gifted to the Sunshine Coast Council and the community maintained to the highest standard at no cost to council.

More than three kilometres of pathways will link to David Low Way and provide public access to the beach, parkland and shops, restaurants and cafes of the village heart.

The parks and pathways, coastal village, The Westin Coolum Resort & Spa and 16 beachfront dwellings will be delivered in Stage One.

In total, 753 apartments and 98 dwellings will complement the shared facilities at Yaroomba Beach.

Yaroomba Beach has a vibrant coastal village at its heart that welcomes the community in.

A destination in itself, the village heart will offer boutique shops, quality cafes and exciting restaurants
There will be a 6,000m² public park– two and a half times the size of Tickle Park in Coolum – where you can kick the footy with the kids, have a picnic or enjoy regular arts and cultural events
A playground and water play space next to the public park will be a place for your kids to enjoy creative art, imaginative plants, water swirls and sprays

The high tech Coastal Discovery Centre and Coastal Discovery Trail will help you explore the region’s history and environment through interactive displays and virtual reality
And getting there will be easy, with multiple entries to more than three kilometres of dedicated pedestrian and cycling paths and 180 public car parking spaces connecting to the beach

Yaroomba Beach adds $120 million to the Sunshine Coast regional economy – annually

This is a $900 million investment for a much needed tourism and residential development that will contribute significantly to the Sunshine Coast economy
It aligns with Sunshine Coast Council’s vision, boosting tourism, sport and leisure, agribusiness and aerospace industries – including the expansion of Sunshine Coast Airport
And it will create another 90,000 new visitor nights on the Sunshine Coast a year, generating $39 million in annual new tourism spending

The latest technology and flexible event spaces at The Westin will help to bring international standard events and conferences back to the region
While The Westin’s parent company, Marriott International, will market the region as a destination to its 110 million loyalty members across the globe
The integrated residential community is forecast to increase turnover at local shopping centres by up to 22%

There will be 360 jobs created at Yaroomba Beach.
260 of these jobs will be at The Westin, part of Marriott International, in hospitality, landscaping, guest services and maintenance to management and administration
And they will have access to career progression and structured training with Marriott International, the world’s largest hotel group with successful operations in 124 countries
There will be another 100 onsite jobs in the cafes and shops of the village heart, and in the maintenance of the grounds to a 5 Star resort standard

Yaroomba Beach will support a total 1400 jobs across the community – from tourism operators, retailers and eateries on the coast, to local produce suppliers in the hinterland
And this is after the 440 construction jobs on average a year – earning a total $26 million in wages a year – it will take to build the development
We have a training partnership with TAFE to ensure our local young people are job ready and can work locally, and will give priority to local trades for the construction work

Yaroomba Beach will create a diversity of housing in the local area

The South East Queensland Regional Plan forecasts a 39% increase in the Sunshine Coast population in the 25 years to 2041, requiring 87,000 new dwellings
Yaroomba Beach will deliver 851 of the new homes that are needed over 12 years – a 6.9% increase on existing 2016 Coolum and Marcoola stock
These homes will provide the opportunity to live in a premium apartment or terraces in a beachside location among the parks, shops and café of the village heart and the Westin

A diversity of apartments will be perfect for those looking to downsize, or for first home buyers wanting to enter the market
The serviced apartments designed to The Westin’s 5 Star quality will also be an attractive offering to astute investors
